Monday Music Notes – 11/7/16

Hello Band Family!

THANK YOU for an AMAZING Week! Great teamwork and the buzz you have created by being AWESOME led to a very exciting, productive and successful week for the Mustang Band Family. Thank You to the parent volunteers that worked tirelessly, the kids from Concert, Symphonic and Jazz Band that stepped up to be GREAT hosts, and the SENIORS who were honored at a wonderful gala and game Friday Night. That’s what it is all about: hard work and accomplishment!

MMB At-a-Glance Schedule. It’s Theme Dress-Up Week!!!

Tuesday – 6-9 Rehearsal. Pajama Day!!!

Wednesday – 2:30-5 Rehearsal – Section Squad Day!!! B-Ball Pep Rally 2:30-3!

Thursday – 3-10 Rehearsal and Parent Show (kids are ON campus entire time).

Ranch Hands On Deck at 9:00pm – We are TIMING the Run Thru!!!

Friday – 9-12 Morning Rehearsal – Freshman Year Show Day!!!

SATURDAY, Nov. 12th

FMBC State Finals Competition


Location: Tropicana Dome, St. Petersburg

Semifinals Performance Time: 2:18pm – Finals are Saturday Night.

10:00am – Report Time for EVERYONE in Band Room – Flip your tag

** (Girls arrive w/buns and makeup done, everyone long socks & COMP shirts!)

10:15am - Bibber Met Visual Run on Asphalt

10:30 - Load horns onto trailers (percussion will be loaded Thursday night)

10:50am – Inspection

11:00am – Depart for Tropicana Dome in St. Petersburg FL.

12:00pm - Arrive & Check in to FMBC tent 

12:15pm - Unload trailers, set up “Ranch Hand Compound”, bathrooms, NUTRITION/HYDRATION

12:45pm – Body, Set Up 2s, move to warmup

1:22pm – Warm-up on Lot A

2:04pm - Staging in Tunnel

2:18pm – FMBC State Band Championship Semifinal Performance!!!

2:32pm – Pictures. Stack Instruments over in Prop Area along with Props

3:00pm – Band Return to stadium with Staff and Chaperones to be seated for Awards

3:10pm – 4-year Seniors go to Gate/Field with Mr. Lambert for Retreat

4:00pm – Return to buses in Parking Lot

You will wear comp shirt ALL DAY! Make sure to have comfortable undergarments, Shorts and freshening supplies! GUARD: bling shirts/shorts when not in uniform

Plan if we DO make finals:

4:15pm – Hang uniforms, stack equipment, load buses Buses depart for Lakewood HS in St. Pete

4:45pm – Arrive at Lakewood HS, Move into hospitality area. Bathrooms

5:00pm – Full Band Meeting

5:15pm – Meal, Downtime

6:00pm – Load Buses

6:15pm – Depart for the Trop

6:45pm - Arrive & Check in to FMBC tent 

7:00pm – Dress, Prepare for FINALS

7:25pm – Set Up 2s, move to warmup

7:30pm – 4A Finals Warmups begin, slots go until 8:26pm

8:26pm - FMBC 4A Finals Begin, slots go until 9:22pm

9:45pm – Return equipment to trailers, Return to Stadium in 2s; Show Folds/Plumes

10:00pm – Return to Trop for 5A & Awards. You MUST have money to eat in this block – there are lots of concession stands at the Trop, and they are all PRICEY. Plan on $20.00 for food, drink and candy.

11:00pm – Follow Mr. Lambert to stage for Olympic-style Finals Retreat

11:14pm - Awards

12:30pm – Nutrition, Load Buses and Depart for home

1:00am - Arrive at LRHS, Unload, Clean Up!

If we DO NOT make finals we will eat, load and head to the Ranch, ETA, 5:00pm.

There are 5 DAYS until State Championships. I need your dedication and commitment to realize our Potential. Please continue to sleep well, eat healthy and Hydrate! Count on significant outside time and almost always moving and playing. Take care of your chops! Hydrate – Water Bottles!!

In order to compete with the best 4A bands in the state YOU must RESPECT yourself, RESPECT the bandroom, RESPECT your director and staff. RESPECT and support your teammates, don’t let US down!

PLEASE complete your registration for the Spring Trip! We have proven that travel is a great way to celebrate and expand the image of Lakewood Ranch Bands; let’s take advantage of this great opportunity in March 2017!

The details listed above are there for you so that your band experience can be POSITIVE and ORGANIZED. YOU are responsible for everything outlined in the MMN. Help us ALL have a great year by taking care of YOUR personal needs and by being ACCOUNTABLE for the guidelines of the LRHS Band Program.
