Mustang Marching Band

Thank You for your hard work Saturday Band. Congratulations for your first place in Field Visual and Percussion, and your third place overall finish at the Newsome Regional! How about our guard with a 70 at their first show!!! I told you that we had to make the best of the situation, and I hit as much as we could on a show day. No excuses; You competed against 2 bands that started way earlier this fall and that have already had several competitions. Our time is coming……there are four important days to get better this week!

I really appreciate everyone’s feedback on my survey today: the bottom line is many kids and families had solid plans that make a Saturday competition unrealistic. I hope you know that I never stop fighting for you to have the best experience possible. I won’t let Hermine and Matthew get in the way of our Tradition!

I would to make-up some lost rehearsal time without making too heavy an impact on you, still leaving the FUN time you have planned for: I AM ASKING FOR 6 ADDITIONAL REHEARSAL HOURS THIS WEEK.

Tuesday and Thursday will be 5-9pm rehearsals. Friday will be a 5-9 rehearsal.

No leadership meetings or pre-rehearsal commitments, just getting down to business at 5 all three nights. We will save the Fun-in-the-Stands for the 3-week home game stretch we have coming; Middle School Night 10/21, LRHS Homecoming and Alumni Night 10/28, and then Senior Night 11/4. This week will be competition-focused. The Sarasota game is their homecoming and therefore not a performance opportunity. Every rehearsal this week will feature at least one complete run through, so parents come out at the end each night to root these kids on! This is a special show showcasing a special band. I appreciate your flexibility.

Tuesday: 5pm rehearsal

Wednesday: 2:30-4:30 Music Rehearsal, 4:30-5:30 Ensemble rehearsal

Thursday: 5pm rehearsal

Friday: 5pm Rehearsal

100% attendance needed, 110% effort expected!

Please sleep, eat healthy and Hydrate! Count on significant outside time.

Be ready with water bottles, bug spray and proper rehearsal attire.

The details listed above are there for you so that your band experience can be POSITIVE and ORGANIZED. YOU are responsible for everything outlined in the MMN. Help us ALL have a great year by taking care of YOUR personal needs and by being ACCOUNTABLE for the guidelines of the LRHS Band Program.

Your director and staff work hard for you because we BELIEVE in YOU!

System + Spirit = SUCCESS!
