Monday Music Notes – 9/19/16

I’m really proud of the start we are having and this coming week is simply nose-to-the-grindstone improvement and FUN, so I’m keeping it short in this week’s MMN……

LRHS Concert/Jazz Bands

Classes resume Monday with an EVEN day schedule. We will continue to work the performance fundamentals of TONE production, Musical terms/concepts, SCALES and great literature!

Concert and Symphonic Band

Thank You Concert Band kids for helping me balance the band by switching instruments where needed. It will pay off LONG TERM. The band is already achieving sonority, and our technical skills will continue to grow. Symphonic Band: Focus on FUNdamentals!

Wind Ensemble get better EVERY rehearsal!

LRHS Jazz Kids – doo boo dat dah………

Mustang Marching Band

We are getting better every day. Friday night was awesome. Saturday made us better.

FOUR rehearsal days this week - NO game or Weekend events. DIG IN, work like CHAMPIONS:

Tuesday: 6-9pm Rehearsal

Wednesday: Sectionals with check-offs (MVP 11/12 Seconds H-L) and a full ensemble run.

Thursday: 6-9pm Rehearsal

Friday: 3-7pm Rehearsal

Please sleep, eat healthy and Hydrate! Count on significant outside time. Be ready with water bottles, bug spray and proper rehearsal attire. Your rehersal etiquette and attention need to be at an all-time high as we prepare for our October 8th FMBC regional competition at Newsome HS!

The details listed above are there for you so that your band experience can be POSITIVE and ORGANIZED. YOU are responsible for everything outlined in the MMN. Help us ALL have a great year by taking care of YOUR personal needs and by being ACCOUNTABLE for the guidelines of the LRHS Band Program.

Your Director and Staff work hard because we BELIEVE in YOU!
